This tool uses the standard binary prefixes (1 KB = 1024 Bytes, 1 MB = 1024 KB, etc.) which is common in operating systems.

KB (kilobyte) uses binary (1024) while kB uses decimal (1000). This can cause confusion - check your operating system settings.

Manufacturers use decimal (1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes) while computers use binary (1 GiB = 1,073,741,824 bytes).

File sizes are typically shown in KB, MB, or GB. 1 MB = approximately 1 million bytes, but technically 1,048,576 bytes in binary.
